Our Counsellors || Freedom Counselling Vernon BC

Freedom Counselling counsellors are highly qualified. Both have at least a Master’s level education and members of the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors. In addition to this, however, they have a wealth of practical experience which stems from over 15 years of counselling experience and 20 years of marriage.

With over 15 years of professional experience, Vern has developed a diversity in his therapeutic approach that stems from his involvement in the mental health system, as well as addiction recovery, educational, and private practice settings. He has served as a consultant to government agencies working with clients with a wide range of clinical issues. In addition to his skills as a mediator, facilitator and trainer, his years teaching psychology at university also underline his knowledge of current research and practice.

Calista has worked in a wide range of settings in the course of her medical and professional training and clinical practice, and brings to her counselling a wealth of experience. She is able to relate with ease to others and help make them feel comfortable. She is skilled in listening to clients, evaluating their situation, and developing a treatment plan that will meet with success. Her knowledge of medical factors that may be influencing a client’s condition is an important component of her expertise.
